WHAT AI LAB IS
AI skills training, and for universities, something further
Most of what AI Lab does is practical AI training. What AI can and can't do, the tools, how to spot where it's worth using, how to judge whether it's any good. Half a day to a day, hands on laptops, no prior experience needed.
For university partners we go further. Students run a workshop series on AI fundamentals and use case discovery, then take a real business challenge into a bootcamp, build an agent, and present it to a room of SMEs. That's the difference between a student who can use AI and a student an employer wants to hire.
AI Lab is the academy arm of Zygens, a Leeds AI consultancy. Zygens does the consulting. AI Lab does the training. Same company, different job.

Why AI Labs matter
Awareness isn't employability.
Almost every organisation in the country now knows what AI is. Very few know what to do with it. Thousands of people have sat through an awareness course and come out able to talk about AI without being able to do anything with it.
Our mission is to train as many people as possible, properly, and to close the gap between what education produces and what industry actually needs. Not by saying we bridge it, by putting a student, a real business problem and a working build in the same room.
